Music, passed around.

Torric is a music app and a social space in one. Post the song you can’t stop playing, follow people whose taste you trust, start a group for your scene. And the music itself travels between listeners’ phones, not out of one company’s servers.

Tour

See it in your hand

Social

Talk about the song while it’s playing

Tap a song card in your feed and it plays right there, fetched from three phones that hold it.

Post

Share what you’re hearing

From any track’s menu: Share in a post, write a line, and it’s at the top of Social.

Groups

A room for your scene

A group’s posts, shared playlists anyone in it can add to, and its members and mods.

Nearby

No signal? Still social.

No service: phones around appear over Bluetooth, and a track comes over Wi-Fi from the phone that has it.

Listen

Radio from one song

Start radio from a track and the queue fills. Drag to reorder.

01 / Social

Talk about the song while it’s playing

Every post can carry a song. Tap the card and it plays right there, and your queue carries on from it. Reply, repost, like, edit a typo. Feeds run in order: nothing decides what you see except the people you follow.

Feeds

Following shows you, the people you follow and what they repost. Everyone shows the whole room, newest first.

Profiles

An @handle, a short bio and a pattern drawn from your key. No profile photos, so there are no faces to scrape.

Groups

Start one for your scene, your city or your band. Owners choose mods, and mods keep it on topic.

Inbox

Replies, mentions, follows, likes and reposts in one place, so you never miss who heard what you shared.

Playlists that travel

Make one on your phone and it follows you to your other devices. Make it public and anyone can play it.

Radio from a song

Start from one track and keep going. Artist and album pages, a queue you can rearrange, controls on the lock screen.

Block and mute

Block ends follows both ways and keeps the two of you apart. Mute just quietens someone. Both are a tap away.

02 / How it works

No middleman for the music

01

Your key is your account

The app makes a key on your phone. Pick an @handle and write down your recovery phrase. That’s the whole sign-up: no email, no password.

02

Listeners carry the music

Tracks travel between phones over BitTorrent. You choose how much storage to share, and that space keeps music available for the next listener.

03

Everyone holds the catalog

The catalog is a signed file every phone keeps a copy of, so search keeps working even when our servers don’t.

04

Servers help, they don’t own

Posts, playlists and profiles are records signed by your key. Our servers store and pass them on, but they can’t forge them.

03 / Nearby Early · Android first

No signal? Still social.

On a train, at a festival, in a basement venue. Nearby uses Bluetooth to reach the phones around you, with or without internet.

  • A room for whoever’s close. Anonymous by default: you’re “anon-3f2a” until you choose to say who you are.
  • Private talks. End-to-end encrypted, and your @handle is shown only to people you choose.
  • Group chats of up to 32. For your crew at the show.
  • Tracks, hand to hand. If you opt in, your phone carries catalog tracks for others and passes them on over a fast Wi-Fi link.

Built so there’s nothing to sell

No ads, no tracking

No analytics, no advertising IDs, no data brokers. We don’t collect what we’d have no use for.

Moderated in the open

Report and block are a tap away. Takedowns are signed by our moderators, and every copy of the app honours them.

Leave whenever

Delete your identity from inside the app, and what you made goes with it. Read the privacy policy →
