Child safety standards
Torric has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to everything on Torric: tracks, posts, profiles, groups, playlists, messages and Nearby.
What’s prohibited
- Child sexual abuse material, in any form, including drawn, generated or text.
- Sexualising anyone under 18, in words, audio or anything else.
- Grooming: befriending a child to sexually abuse or exploit them.
- Sextortion, and threatening to share intimate images of anyone under 18.
- Trafficking a child, or advertising or soliciting children for sexual purposes.
- Linking to, promoting, or helping others find any of the above.
Torric is for people aged 13 and over. People under 18 need a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
How to report it
In the app: open the menu on the track, post or profile and tap Report. Say that it involves a child. For something in a private message or group chat, which moderators can’t read, report the sender’s profile and say what they sent.
Outside the app: write to contact@torric.app with “Child safety” in the subject.
If a child is in immediate danger, call the police first: 112 in India. You can also report to the authorities directly: in India, at the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal; anywhere, to NCMEC’s CyberTipline.
What we do
- Reports about children are handled first, before anything else in the moderators’ queue.
- We remove it. Posts and profiles come down; tracks are taken out of the catalog, and a signed takedown makes every copy of Torric that hears it delete the track and refuse to fetch it again.
- We ban whoever posted it, and keep the ban.
- We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the authorities in India, as the law requires, and keep what they need for an investigation.
- We cooperate with law enforcement’s lawful requests.
How Torric is built
- No profile photos, so there are no faces to collect.
- No location is shared with other people. Nearby shows an anonymous name that changes, never your handle, unless you choose to show it.
- Block on every profile and post ends follows both ways and keeps the two of you apart, at once.
- Barred words and phrases are refused before a post, profile, track or name is published.
The law
Torric complies with the child safety laws that apply to it, including India’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
