Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Prastavna, who makes Torric. By using Torric you agree to them, and to the rules they include. If you don’t agree, don’t use Torric.

Who can use Torric

You must be at least 13. If you’re under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. You can’t use Torric if you’ve been banned from it, or if the law where you are forbids it.

Your identity

Your Torric identity is a key made and kept on your phone, with a handle on top. You’re responsible for what’s done with it. Keep your recovery phrase safe: we never have it and can’t recover it, so if you lose both the phrase and your devices, the identity is gone.

Don’t take a handle to pose as someone else, or to hold it for sale. We can take back a handle that does either.

What you share

What you post and upload stays yours. So that Torric can work, you give Prastavna and other people using Torric a worldwide, free licence to store, copy, pass on, show and play it within Torric. The licence ends when you delete it or your identity, except for copies others already hold, as below.

You may only upload audio you have the right to share, and you must follow the rules. We don’t tolerate objectionable content or abusive people.

Torric is peer to peer. Tracks, and many of your signed public records, are copied onto other people’s phones and onto mirrors others run. Deleting something stops us showing and passing it on, and tells phones and mirrors to drop it, but we can’t reach into a phone that never hears it.

Sharing from your phone

While you use Torric, your phone shares the music it holds with other listeners, using the storage you allow (Account → Storage) and your data. Other listeners, and the trackers that introduce you, see your IP address while you share or fetch a track. The privacy policy says more.

Moderation

We can remove anything on Torric, take a track down from every phone that hears the takedown, and suspend or ban an identity that breaks these terms or the rules, or that we must act on under the law. Repeat copyright infringers are banned. If you believe we got it wrong, tell us.

Leaving

You can stop using Torric whenever you like, and delete your identity from inside the app.

Torric as it is

Torric is free, and provided as it is. Tracks depend on other people’s phones being online, so we can’t promise any track will play, or that Torric will always work. As far as the law allows, Prastavna gives no warranties, and isn’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, for what other people post, upload or send, or for more than ₹1,000 in all.

If you got Torric from the App Store

These terms are between you and Prastavna, not Apple. Apple has no duty to maintain or support Torric, isn’t responsible for claims about it (including product liability, legal compliance and intellectual property claims), and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms, which it may enforce against you. If Torric fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, who will refund what you paid for it (nothing: it’s free). You confirm that you aren’t in a country under a US embargo, or on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Changes

We may change these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes, and for a significant change we’ll give notice here, and in the app where we can. Using Torric after a change means you accept it.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If one part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
